- Merchant Operations Support
The Merchant Operations Support team is responsible for providing the initial setup and the ongoing support to the small local business owners who are our customers. This individual will be the primary post-sales point of contact for merchants, helping our customers get the most from the features of our products, and ensuring that they understand the Perka system and use our tools effectively.
Primary areas of responsibilities include setting up new merchant customers on our system properly, arranging for any user training and coordinating in-store marketing. After merchants are up and running, a person in this role will provide remote support to merchants as required. Occasional personal visits to customer locations will be required. Additionally, this role will monitor and schedule a variety of system-wide activities across multiple merchants. They will also assist and support the sales organization, and coordinate direct marketing to potential customers. This position reports to the heads of Marketing and Operations, and will cooperate regularly with the sales team and the product/technology team.
This position will be one of only a few staff positions in an early stage start-up organization. As such, the responsibilities will be evolving with the needs of the growing business. Initial responsibilities are expected to focus directly on servicing our customers before, during and after the sales process and their set-up with our service.
Specific responsibilities might include: validating loyalty programs, ensuring smooth set-up of new merchants, arrange for or produce necessary in-store signage. Direct support will include: fielding, prioritizing, and responding to incoming support calls and e-mails, preparing and scheduling promotional messaging, and monitoring performance statistics and campaign results. Sales support might include: managing an internal referrals program, screening potential customers, and coordinating direct marketing.
